Production of 11C labelled tracer by Methyl Iodide or Methyl Triflate gas phase synthesis

A flexible and completely automated synthesis system for routine production of any [11C]-labelled tracer either by applying [11C]-Methyl Iodide or optional / [11C]-Methyl Triflate. Using [11C]-Methyl Iodide from the Synthra MeI synthesizer, heterogeneous labeling reactions in a heated cartridge holder or homogenous reactions in the reaction vessel or as well as conversion to [11C]-Methyl Triflate and further heterogeneous or homogenous preparations are possible from a single box set-up.

Radio-HPLC combined with solid phase extraction (SPE) is applied for the purification of C-11 labelled compounds. After formulation and sterile filtration an automated filter integrity test can be performed.
